Aquamate – Pond Window Sealant
Aqua Mate Sealant is a high modulus acetic cure 100% silicone sealant and adhesive designed specifically for aquarium manufacture. 100% fish safe formula. Conforms fully to ISO 11600 G Class 20 LM.
Use for sealing pond window glass to stainless steel / pond liner / pond paint or fiberglass.

Product Description
EVERFLEX AQUA MATE is a high modulus, reactive curing silicone sealant specifically formulated for aquarium manufacture. It remains permanently flexible, forming a watertight seal. Conforms fully to ISO11600 " G Class 20 LM
Benefits

Areas For Use
- All sealing applications in aquaria.
- Sealing of pond liners and all supply/drainage piping.
Limitations
- On highly porous surfaces such as new concrete, priming is advised.
- Not for use on substrates that may bleed oils, solvent or plasticisers.
- As pond liner materials vary in quality, always test a small area first for adhesion.
- Always wash out ponds and aquaria after use to remove residual acetic acid. Test pH before use.
- Allow sealant to fully cure before moving/filling with water.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be clean, dry and dust free. All loose or flaking surface coatings, and old sealant and mastic joints, should be removed before application. All glass must be cleaned prior to use.
Application
The surfaces to be must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease and other contaminants. Priming is generally not required.
Glass must be toughened or laminated. Do not use tempered glass (shattering risk). The following guide is useful in choosing the required glass thickness.
All glass etc should be thoroughly cleaned and degreased and apply the following method:
- Put base on flat surface.
- Apply bead of approximately 3mm diameter on the 2 large panels, placing it about 3mm from the edge.
- Place back panel. Press down to reduce joint thickness to 1-2mm.
- Hold in position (eg rest against back wall).
- Apply beads of sealant to edge of small panel and corresponding large panel.
- Push edges of large and small panel together.
- Hold in place (temp) with adhesive tape.
- Repeat for second small panel.
- Fit front panel on last.
- Apply structural joint of required thickness to all internal faces and finish with dowel to push home sealant.
- Allow to cure for 24 hours before moving.
- Allow to fully cure and rinse out thoroughly before use.
NOTE: THE METHOD DETAILED ABOVE IS SUITABLE FOR AQUARIA UPTO 400LTRS (85 GALLON) IN CAPACITY.

Filtoclear Pressurised Filters & Pump SetsThe OASE FiltoClear is a market-leading pressurised pond filter with integral ultraviolet clarifier for effective filtration of ornamental, goldfish or Koi ponds. These pressurised filtration systems feature easy-clean technology for simple maintenance with minimum effort. The FiltoClear can be buried in the ground and the outlet can be raised above water level to supply a stream or cascade. The exposed lid can be covered and disguised with the optional FiltoCap rock cover. These filters require a suitable filter pump to provide flow. Pond Turnover Rates: The pond stocking levels will determine the required turnover rate which in turn determines the required pump flow rate. Typically, an ornamental pond without any fish will require the pond volume to be circulated at least once every 6 hours; an average stocked pond (with up to 1 kg of fish for every 1000 litres) will require circulating once every 4 hours; a heavily stocked pond including Koi (with up to 3 kg of fish for every 1000 litres) will require circulating once every 2 hours. Filtoclear Set pump selections allow for increased pressure drop across the filter foams as they become polluted with pond waste (see the importance of regular maintenance, below).
Pump Flow Rate: The pump flow rate, typically in litres per hour (lph) or litres per minute (lpm) is determined by the vertical lift, in metres, from the surface of the pond to the outlet pipe AND by the friction losses through the system. The narrower the pipe bore the higher the friction losses, so always use the maximum hose diameter. There will also be a friction loss caused across the filter media (foams etc), which will increase as they become polluted with pond waste.
Effect of raising the filter outlet: Raising the outlet pipe height, typically for a watercourse or waterfall, will reduce the flow rate from the pump thereby increasing the amount of time it takes to circulate the dirty pond water through the filter. This effectively reduces the maximum pond volume that the filter system can cope with and may mean you will require a larger pump. Please contact us and we would be happy to advise you.
Dissolved oxygen (DO) is a major contributor to water quality. Installing an optimally sized OASE OxyTex Aerator Set will substantially improve water quality and fish and can improve filter performance by up to 25%. See the chart above for improvements in pond volume.
The importance of regular maintenance (cleaning): High flow rate = effective filtering. As the filter media (e.g. foams) remove dirt and waste from the pond, so the friction loss across the foams will increase, thereby reducing the flow rate and the effective performance of the filter. It is therefore essential, especially for those systems with a raised outlet, to keep the filter foams clean. Fortunately, this is extremely easy with OASE Filtoclear pond filters.
An option worth consideration.
You could split the flow of clean water exiting your Filtoclear filter by utilizing a Y Distibutor, with one branch flowing directly at low level (low head = maximum flow) back to the pond; and the other branch flowing up to the top of your watercourse (high head = reduced flow). By adjusting the Y Distributor outlet valves to suit your preference you can choose to have all or partial flow going to the pond or watercourse. So typically, when there is nobody in the garden you select full maximum, low level flow back to the pond (high level valve closed), thereby achieving optimum filtration. However, when you are in the garden, you can open up the valve to the watercourse to enjoy the pleasant sound of water running down your watercourse. Note, to achieve maximum flow over the watercourse, fully close the low level valve and fully open the high level valve.

OASE Engineers have developed the all-new BioTec Premium 80000 Pond Filter for the most demanding ornamental, fish or Koi Carp stocked ponds. The compact filtration system contains the automated Drum Filter to screen out debris particles before the biological processing takes place, all within the same compact module.
The revolutionary, integrated drum filter is based on the same technology as Oase's highly successful ProfiClear Premium Drum Filter Module, screening out the very finest particles such as fish waste, string algae, leaf debris and potentially harmful nutrient rich detritus down to 150 microns (1 1/2 x thickness of a human hair).
Specially developed Filter Foams with a significant surface area are used after the Drum Module to house beneficial bacteria, helping to break down pathogens, phosphates and nutrients, resulting in crystal clear pond water. As the automated drum filter is removing solid waste particles before entering the foam media segment, the sponges require far less frequent cleaning compared to more conventional filtration systems.
The BioTec Premium 80000 Filtration System is capable of processing ornamental ponds of up to 80,000 Litres (17,770 Gallons); Fish stocked ponds of up to 40,000 Litres (8,880 Gallons) or Koi Carp stocked ponds of up to 20,000 Litres (4,440 Gallons).

Proficlear Premium Filter Set 1 (Pump Fed)
OASE Aquamax Eco Premium 12000 Filter Pump transports coarse debris up to 11mm Ø and features Eco motor technology for minimum power consumption. The submersed pump is then usually connected to the Bitron UV Clarifier using 2" internal diameter Flexible Hose.
The OASE Bitron 110C Ultraviolet Clarifier provides 110 watts of concentrated UVC power that effectively kills suspended algae, harmful bacteria and germs which are then delivered to the;
OASE Proficlear Premium Pump Fed (NOT Gravity fed) Drum Filter Module is the vital core of the system with deep bed filtration that removes coarse debris particles down to 60 microns and ensures crystal clear water. Pollutant rakes on the filter sieves remove string algae and large particles from the rotating drum. A powerful integral high pressure pump automatically cleans and flushes the sludge to waste. An intelligent microcontroller monitors and controls the Drum Filter's adjustable main functions. The mechanically processed pond water is then passed to the;
OASE Proficlear Premium Moving Bed Module is supplied with a total of 50 litres of Hel-X biomedia, which will populate with beneficial micro-organisms for effective biological nutrient reduction and removal of toxins such as ammonium/ammonia and nitrite. The built in aerator bar provides beneficial oxygen enrichment and turbulence when connected to the supplied AP4800 Air Pump. An additional 50 Litres of Hel-X Filter Media can be added to the Moving Bed Module if desired to further increase biological filtration.
OASE Proficlear Premium Individual Module is the final system module and provides 2 x DN 110 outlets and is the perfect vehicle for adding (if required) filter media such as Zeolite or Phosless (phosphate binder) or fish medications and treatments. The Individual Module can also be fitted with up to 2 optional Bitron Gravity 55w Ultraviolet Clarifiers (not supplied), offering up to 110 watts of additional UV clarification.

With the Proficlear Premium Pump Fed module the filter system is installed above ground and above the pond water level. Polluted water is fed into the filter via an Aquamax ECO Twin or Premium pump. Typically, a Bitron C Ultraviolet Clarifier (UVC) will be fitted directly onto the drum filter module inlet.

Proficlear Premium Pond Filters - Technical Information
- The new generation of Proficlear Premium Modular pond filters are capable of processing large bodies of water, swim ponds, ornamental, fish ponds and Koi Ponds of up to 200,000 Litres.
- Having spent over 3 years in development, Oase have released a truly ground-breaking pond filtration system specifically developed, jointly in intensive co-operation with leading European koi experts, for ornamental Koi ponds. The Proficlear Premium filters are modular in design so can be tailored to suit virtually any pond size and type.
- The major innovation lies with the Drum Filter Module. The sophisticated self-cleaning drum filter will automatically separate and remove coarse debris down to 60 microns, yet handle up to 25,000 litres/hour (5,555 Gals/hr) flow through. The intelligent, automated self cleaning mechanism uses high pressure water jets to periodically cleanse the stainless steel filter sieves, minimising the need to service the filter module.
- The second stage filtration utilises the Oase Proficlear Premium Moving Bed Module. Each module contains OASE Hel-X bio media, with each element featuring an extremely large biological settlement surface area. The Hel-X media effectively removes toxins such as ammonium, ammonia and nitrite. The option to connect an air pump to the supplied aerator bar will allow the entire Hel-X bio media to be circulated with optimum oxygen enrichment. Multiple Moving Bed Modules can be used to increase the specialist Koi filter capability. The Hel-X biological media in Moving Bed module can also be increased, up to 100 Litres (50 Litres supplied).
- The final stage of the filtration process uses the Oase Individual Module. This versatile module can be incorporated to house additional media such as Zeolite and Phosless (phosphate binder), should the water conditions require. The Individual Module can also be used to house Aquamax Gravity ECO pumps and the new Bitron Gravity 55 watt UV Clarifiers.
